The course takes place from 9 am to 5 pm at our campus in Gasperich.

Objectives

Can your ideas could be more innovative?

Learn how to unleash your creativity and effectively manage innovation projects within your company by creating new game-changing business models, products or services: apply the Design Thinking methodology.

This practical training will help you to apply the principles of Design Thinking at work.

Working in a conventional way gives conventional results.

We will learn techniques and practice how to innovate in the business model to deliver the new product/service to the market.

Let’s see the reality of the market with fresh eyes! Having a new product or a service is not sufficient - we need to think about the business model that brings it to the market

  • Develop innovative products that are compelling and widely adopted by users
  • Use prototypes and tools to develop products, strategies or business models
  • Continuously improve products and strategies through user feedback

Content

Day 1
SECTION 1: Leveraging unexploited creativity to improve innovative skills

Introduction to innovation to prepare ourselves to think outside of our mental paradigms.

SECTION 2: Becoming an Innovator - Idea generation

Introduction to a new methodology that comes naturally to most designers and creative minds.
This methodology consists of experiencing things from the user's perspective, visualizing ideas, understanding the customer/user and iterating ideas rapidly.

Day 2
SECTION 3: Becoming an Innovator - Coming up with the solution

Presenting the results of the problem understanding exercise then practicing the problem-solving part of the exercise.
The goal now is to apply the Design Thinking approach to generate solutions to the identified problems.
Presentation of the new products and services that we developed.

SECTION 4: Take the solution to the market with the right business model

Learning and practicing how to innovate in the business model to deliver the new product/service to the market.

SECTION 5: Results and next steps

Taking the learnings from the classroom to the office.
Group discussion/exercise on how to apply the design thinking and business model canvasing on every-day problems in the organization.

Assessment

Certficate, diploma

The participants will obtain a certificate from the Luxembourg School of Business. Our school is certified by the Ministry of Education as a lifelong learning organism and member of AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business).

Additional information

About the teacher:

Ivanka Visnjic is a Professor of Innovation at ESADE Business School, where she also acts a Director of Institute for Innovation and Knowledge Management. Previously, Ivanka worked at a consulting firm McKinsey & Co, completed a Ph.D. at KU Leuven in Belgium and helped set up a business-led partnership, Cambridge Service Alliance, at the University of Cambridge. Her research, consulting and speaking activities are focused on innovation at large, established companies.

Ivanka has been working closely with C-suite and senior management teams of a number of global companies, such as Atlas Copco, BAE Systems, Caterpillar, GEA, IBM, Novozymes, Pearson, and Zoetis.
